"The Pack," an original play by Betsy Rainsford, will open March 14 at the Community Cultural Center, located at 411 S. Western Ave., in Tonasket.
The production, featuring cast of local residents from Omak, Tonasket and Oroville, promises to captivate audiences with its intriguing storyline and unique characters.
For the past several weeks, the cast has been hard at work in rehearsals, perfecting their lines and stage movements in preparation for the opening night.
The plot centers on Diedre (Danika Smith), a woman who marries into a world of wealth, quantum physics, and four possessive poodles (puppeteers Payton Clawitter and Ashley Fardys).
As she navigates this strange new life, questions about her husband Justin (Huck Beehner) arise—specifically his frequent absences and the mysterious behavior of his poodles toward her and her puppy, Maxi (Julie Alley).
With the help of her mother Arlene (Valerie Coolidge) and the household staff—Hans (Adam Clawitter), Tilly (Lynn Hoover), and Charles (Andross Moore)—Diedre begins to uncover clues that lead to a deeper mystery.
“Will Diedre uncover the truth and ultimately make the right decision for herself and Maxi?” Rainsford asks. “It’s a science fiction-inspired story with an unexpected twist.”
Performances are planned March 14-16 and March 21-23, with Friday and Saturday shows starting at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m.
Tickets, which can be purchased at the door, are priced at $10 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and younger. This event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Tonasket Community Cultural Center. ♦
